Photography has been an obsessive passion of mine since I purchased my first 35mm camera as a teenager. I quickly became addicted to the rituals of and tactility associated with film photography and the anticipation of waiting for developed images. At the same time I discovered it was a great way for me to document and explore the people in my life on a deeply personal level. Over the last decade I have had the pleasure of photographing many people, a core group of whom remain incredibly close, and what has transpired over the years is a fascinating documentation of physical and emotional growth. What captivates me the most however is that within the act of making a portrait of someone else I am able to capture my subconscious interests, desires, and mental state at that particular moment in time and be invited into the psyche of another human being.
